Martin qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a Big Four firm based in the South West. He managed PLC and SME clients across both the manufacturing and service sectors, and was involved in Corporate Finance and Forensic assignments at home and abroad.
His next role was as Finance Manager at a world-renowned private bank, based in the Channel Islands. Reporting directly to the Board, Martin was employed specifically to manage a period of rapid change for the bank. He introduced robust new financial and operating procedures and further developed the Accounting and Compliance functions.
On returning to the UK Martin took the role of FC for a SME Manufacturing Company. Change Management was again a feature of the role as the company expanded rapidly into overseas markets. Controlling the growth was essential, and Martin developed a comprehensive Management Reporting system with key business metrics to ensure tight management of Working Capital and maximization of profit. He provided the link between the finances of the business and the day to day operations, and as such, played a fundamental role in driving the business forward.
It is this broad exposure and commercial awareness that enables Martin to add genuine value to his clients. Whether it is Management Accounts, Strategic Planning, Cash-flow management, Cost Analysis, or Operations Management, Martin aims to provide his clients with the tools to realize the potential of their business.
